Built in 1906, The Berkeley at 420 Boylston was rated "of major significance" when receiving Landmark designation by the Boston Landmarks Commission. Known as "Crowned Jewel of Back Bay", it was the first building in Boston to be honored with all three of BOMA's "Office Building of the Year" awards; Local, Regional and International.
In 1989, an A.W. Perry total renovation put The Berkeley among the Back Bay's top office buildings. A six-story atrium was incorporated, the grand facade was restored and the original balustrade crown and bronze doors were replicated
